A vacant parcel of land surrounded by the Amtrak and WMATA Metro rail lines offered a prime location for a new, 218-room Marriott designed for the business traveler. But it also offered a big challenge: design a hotel adjacent to the rumbling of trains that would allow its guests a quiet and peaceful nightís sleep.
Enter Tidewater Glazing.
After months of design work, a system was developed which included assembly methods designed to enhance acoustic performance. This, coupled with the use of a special laminated glass makeup, delivered outstanding OITC and STC values when laboratory tested.
The project includes approximately 28,000 square feet of ribbon windows, storefront, custom entrances and interior fitness center elements.
