1800 Tysons Boulevard is a 12-story 320,000 square foot world-class office tower completed in 2005. The project was designed by the internationally acclaimed architectural firm of Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates PC of New York and was awarded the Honor Award for design excellence in the Fairfax County 2009 Fairfax County Exceptional Design Awards Program. The building is one block from the new Tysons Corner Metro Station scheduled to open in early 2014, located within Lerner Enterprises’ Corporate Office Centre at Tysons II in Tysons Corner, Virginia, the largest office market in Virginia and 12th largest in the nation.
The building, a bold modern expression, defines the corner of Tysons Boulevard and Galleria Drive. The facade is composed of two distinct expressions - a volume of dark green granite and high-performance glass on the cantilevered tower or “glass cube”, and primary expansive of sculptured concrete and glass on the main tower.
Tidewater Glazing was contracted to provide a custom unitized ribbon window system for the project, along with a high-span retail and lobby level curtain wall system, a glass and metal pedestrian bridge enclosure, metal panel systems, column covers, and high-end entrance systems.
